GOALS FOR 2004
OHIO SECTION AWWA DIVERSITY COMMITTEE
Our mission is to facilitate opportunities for inclusion and advancement for minorities and women in the water industry. The following goals support our mission:
• Continue to sponsor the DARCE Fund annually • Sponsor workshops and activities each year to target a diverse audience and to promote inclusion • Develop a Diversity Committee web page by June and keep it updated • Continue to develop the “Keys to Success” • A luncheon in the Spring • A mentoring breakfast at the annual conference • Continue to recruit new members to the Ohio Section AWWA with a special focus on operators, utilities, students and younger members • Contact all new members to invite them to join the Diversity Committee and to inform them of our various activities. This will be done twice a year. • Encourage involvement of diverse members • Publish articles quarterly in the newsletter • Explore opportunities to nominate diverse members for awards and appointments
