Tony Kohler Elected 1st Year Trustee |

Tony is employed by the City of Columbus at the Parsons
Avenue Water Plant. He has been with the city 18 years and he holds an
Ohio Class IV Water Operator License. His experience includes operating
at surface water and ground water plants.
Tony began his career as a Maintenance Helper at the Dublin Road Water Plant in 1983. In 1985 he was promoted to Water Plant Operator I. In 1988 he was promoted to Water Plant Operator II and transferred to the Parsons Avenue Water Plant. Tony has been the Operations Manager at Parsons Avenue since his promotion in 1991. Tony received his Class I, II, & III water licenses between 1984 and 1987 while working at the Dublin Road Plant and his Class IV in 1994. Tony has been active since 1999 with an internal program with the Division of Water to become more competitive. This project is employee driven and has full support of the division’s administration, to date there have been several cost saving initiatives implemented. Prior to working for the City of Columbus Tony worked in private industry at a machine shop where he operated machine tools, welding and spray-painting equipment. Tony has been a member of AWWA since 1984 he is also a member of the National Management Association. He is active on the Ohio Section, Water For People Committee and was the Chair of the Southeast District for the year 2000. Tony has also been active in his community and church. He served as a Trustee for the Board of Public Affairs for the Village of Pataskala, Ohio from 1984 through 1987. During his term on the Board of public affairs the Village of Pataskala undertook extensive Capitol Improvement Projects that increased capacity of the water treatment plant, distribution system improvements and construction of an additional elevated storage tank. Tony is a member of the New Testament Church of Newark, Ohio where he holds the office as an Elder, Business Agent and Board of Trustees Officer. Tony and Kim Kohler have one daughter, Heather who is 17. Tony and Kim are active as Band Boosters for the Marching Band and enjoy the activities and competitions the Band participates in. |
