Fuller Award

Sharon Metz was named recipient of the Ohio highest honor for her distinguished service in the water supply field and in commemoration of sound engineering skill, diplomatic talent, and constructive leadership of men and women in the association.

Sharon began her career with the Middleton Water Department before coming to the City of Columbus Division of Water in 1975. Sharon has been involved with various aspects of public service over her career and is currently Assistant Customer Service Coordinator for the City of Columbus Division of Water, a position she has held since 1992. Sharon has contributed much to AWWA over the years at both the State and National level. Committees that she has contributed to include Customer Service, Minority Affairs, Local Arrangements, and Computer Application. Sharon was instrumental in the development of the DARCE Scholarship Fund. She has given presentations at section and national meetings and has served on the Governing Board.

Sharon is a tireless worker for the Association. Sharon was on the first team of QualServ Peer reviewers and took part in three peer reviews. Sharon has been a champion in bringing Customer Service from its early beginnings to the well-deserved status that Customer Service has obtained in AWWA today.

Sharon began her first three-year term as a member-at-large of the Association’s Technical And Educational Council.
