OPERATOR’S MERITORIOUS SERVICE AWARD |

William Reeves Jr. was honored at the Section meeting with the Operator
Meritorious Service award for distinguishing himself by regular
compliance with public health standards, exemplary plant maintenance,
development of new ideas, training, and outstanding achievements above
and beyond his normal operating responsibilities.
Bill has been employed by the Cincinnati Water works for nearly 33 years and has been a member of AWWA for over 24 years. He is respected for his extensive knowledge of drinking water and his willingness to share his wisdom. Bill has been the Plant Superintendent of Water Supply since 1986, Assistant Superintendent of Water Supply Division from 1982-86, and Engineer and Supervising Engineer from 1972-82. Bill is a Registered Professional Engineer and is respected for his extensive knowledge of drinking water and his willingness to share his wisdom. His peers describe him as a very creative operations manager who has the ability to apply common sense solutions to highly technical problems. Bill has helped in the training of several water professionals as an OTCO instructor for 13 years, teaching the OTCO Water Distribution course and helping operators prepare for the State Certification exams. Bill has actively served over 10 years as a member of the AWWA Ball Valve Standards Committee that develops and maintains AWWA Standard C504 and related manuals and reports for community water systems. Bill is known as the "Water Works Historian" for the Cincinnati Water Works and has written numerous articles related to the facilities. |
