Larry Valentine retired from the City of Cuyahoga Falls on April 30
where he served as Water Utilities Superintendent for over 25 years.
Larry was responsible for the operation and maintenance of the 12 MGD
iron removal and zeolite softening plant, water distribution system, and
storm and sanitary sewer collections. Larry was accountable for $30M in
capital improvements, managed a $9M operating budget, and recently
completed $5.3M improvements to the Water Plant which consist of adding
three greensand filters, rehabilitating three filters, and adding bulk
chemical feed facilities. The $0.7M expansion of the stockroom and
garage facilities should be completed this year.
Larry joined Consumers Ohio Water Company on May 1 as Vice President of the satellite water and sanitary sewer systems. Larry will develop acquisition candidates, coordinate the acquisition procedure, and manage the new acquisition to achieve compliance with regulatory and company operating standards. Larry will plan and provide input on facility modifications and extensions and review all operation reports to assure compliance with guidelines. Larry has a Class IV water license, Class III wastewater license, and is a registered professional engineer. Over the years, Larry has served on most of the Ohio Section committees, served as Chair 1990-91, International Director 1993-96, was Fuller Award recipient in 1992, and has received numerous membership awards including the Diamond Pin in 1995, Ambassador 1992, and was presented an Honorary Award in 2001 for his years of dedicated service. |
