Ohio Section Bylaws require that the Nominating Committee notify the Governing Board of its nomination and announce it to the membership prior to the Annual Section Conference. Members may make additional nominations until 30 days prior to the September 19 election held at the Business Luncheon. Melinda Raimann Nominated 1st Year Trustee 6 year term September 02-08 Melinda Raimann is a Project Director at the Cleveland Division of Water (CWD) where she has been employed since January 1989. Melinda began her career at CWD as an employee trainer where she developed and provided training classes on topics as diverse as customer service, management, and safety. In 1992, Melinda became the Safety Manager for the Division and was charged with creating a safety program for the Division. In addition to her Safety Manager responsibilities, Melinda served as the Deputy Project Manager for the Division's Y2K remediation project in 1999, with primary responsibility for risk assessment and contingency planning. She received a Class II Water Distribution License and a Certified Utility Safety Administrator (CUSA) with a Water designation in 2000. In 2000, she was named the Project Manger for the Division's 5 year, 15 thread, IT Solutions Project and placed on the Executive Committees for both the IT Solution project and the Citywide GIS project. In 2001, she provided Project Management training to twenty-five Department of Public Utilities employees who have subsequently been assigned to manage IT projects within the Department. Melinda is currently establishing a Program Management Office and assisting in the implementation of the Division's Strategic Business Plan. Melinda has been very active in AWWA since joining in 1992. She is currently serving a three-year term as a trustee of the National Distribution and Plant Operations Division, is CWD's representative on the AWWA Benchmarking Consortium, is current Chair of the Northeast District, and serves as a member of the Ohio Section Membership Committee. Melinda is an active recruiter and has recruited nearly 30 new members to join AWWA. Melinda has served in the past as the Chair of the Safety Committee and the 2001 Local Arrangements Committee. She has presented papers at National and Ohio AWWA Conferences and several District meetings, and has developed and presented safety training seminars for AWWA on a National level. Melinda has also served as a past Chair of the Municipal Employees Committee of the All Ohio Safety & Health Congress and Exhibit, and two terms as Program Chair for the Northern Ohio Chapter of ASSE (American Society of Safety Engineers) where she is a current member. She also has been selected to present papers at the National ESRI Users Group and the URISA (Urban & Regional Information Systems Association) conferences. Melinda and Bob Raimann have two sons, Scott (7) and Grant (4). They participate with their sons at church, school and pre-school functions, Cub Scouts and soccer. Melinda and Bob are also members of the West Side Irish American club.
